the obligatory foot selfie @ pdx

They started the tear up on Friday so of course I had to seize my last opportunity for a foot selfe on the iconic Portland airport carpet (if you've somehow missed the big to do about the replacement and are wondering what the big deal is about a freaking carpet...well, Google is your friend).

I saw the piece on tv. Couldn't remember the flooring of any other airport I've been in, but do remember PDX-funny. Did you have to stand in a selfie line?

Ha...thankfully, no.

I'm not surprised that you remembered it, though it's hard to put a finger on exactly what makes it so memorable. I read that the design was original was an abstract representation of the flight pattern in/out of PDX, which is nifty. The new design isn't a big departure from the old one, so I wonder if it will become as iconic.

Interestingly, the same crew that installed the old carpet 30(!) years ago is tearing out and installing the new one. Not just the same company, but the same people. Amazing!
